Innovative Language, LanguagePod101.com

I discovered Innovative Language, my favorite language app, when I started looking for podcasts to help me learn a little Italian for an upcoming trip to the Amalfi Coast. I found the Podcast titled “Learn Italian: ItalianPod101.com) and I like it; it was interesting and helpful and contained some dialogues that I could learn from. However, once I decided to plan another trip to Italy and to really put some effort into learning the language, I realized that the podcast alone wasn’t enough, so I downloaded the Innovative Language app and joined for free. Eventually, I did purchase the Premium subscription, but even the free version offers great lessons with lots of topics and opportunities to practice.

I love ItalianPod101.com, but it’s by no means the only language. In fact, they offer 34 different languages on their website, so if you want to learn Hebrew, Swahili, or Thai, they’ve got you covered!

PROS:

• levels range from absolute beginner to advanced

• you can have multiple users with the same login on different devices, and you won’t lose your place

• lots of audio to listen to while you’re in the car or doing other things

• fun cultural tidbits

• opportunities to upgrade to a live teacher and group classes
